Welcome from the Principal

At the Olive School, Bolton, we are passionate about instilling high aspirations, a desire to learn and the ambition to achieve within all of our pupils. We do this through creating a variety of enjoyable and engaging learning opportunities, which ensure our pupils are well-equipped to make sense of the world around them, enabling them to become independent learners and develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

All of the teachers at The Olive School, Bolton feel honoured to be responsible for nurturing, inspiring and supporting our pupils to become the leaders of tomorrow, and we are committed to devising innovative and successful teaching techniques in order to engage and sustain their interest. Our high expectations are underpinned by a system of praise and rewards, where all of our pupils are celebrated, valued and recognised for their individual contributions to the school community.

We encourage our pupils to develop leadership characteristics from a young age, and are passionate about guiding them to explore their natural talents and fulfil their potential. We believe that each child and young person – regardless of prior achievement and background – can make outstanding progress academically and personally.

Keeping our pupils safe, happy and well is our foremost priority and by cultivating a values-based environment where everyone understands the importance of Service, Teamwork, Ambition and Respect, our pupils are encouraged to always do their best, treat others as they would wish to be treated, and make worthwhile contributions to their community.

We are passionate about working with parents and the local community, as they play an instrumental role in helping us to create an educational experience that is enriching and exceptional.
