Pupils spread seasonal cheer with festive giving

Generous pupils ahave spread festive cheer to members of their community this winter.

The school children have been bringing in donations of food, treats and gifts to make into hampers for local charities and to thank those working for the emergency services. Pupils have donated the hampers to Strathmore Nursing Home, Astley Grange Nursing Home, Crompton Way Fire Station, Bolton Police Station, Royal Bolton Hospital’s Emergency Department and Children’s Ward, Urban Outreach Food Bank and Bolton Hospice.

The pupil’s seasonal charitable endeavours are part of its annual Festive Winter Gift Programme, which sees pupils taking part in fundraising activities, donating gifts to people in need of support and giving their time volunteering to demonstrate their contributions to the wider community through charitable actions.

Parent Mrs Ali said:

“Taking part in the Festive Winter Gift Programme has been a wonderful and rewarding experience for my daughter. In the spirit of the festive season, it is important we remember to support the vulnerable in our local community.”

Principal Sabina Saeed said:

“Through our annual Festive Winter Gift Programme, we aim to encourage our pupils to think of others at this busy time of year when many people are celebrating with their families. I am overwhelmed by the response of our school community. We are very proud of our pupils and families in the way they have shown real kindness to each other and the wider community.”
