The Olive School says ‘hats off’ to Harry & Meghan!

Pupils at The Olive School celebrated the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with a party fit for royalty on Friday 18 May.

The youngsters arrived at school dressed as princes, princesses, kings and queens or wedding guests.

They wore wedding hats they had fashioned at home with their families, and took part in a parade to show off their creations. Prizes were awarded to the most creative hat designers in each class.

Sabina Saeed, our Principal said:

“We wanted to give all our pupils the chance to be a part of the national occasion of the Royal Wedding. By throwing our own celebration in school and using it to inspire creativity, I’m certain that our children will remember where they were the day Prince Harry and Meghan married.”

Pupil Aaminah Patel commented:

“I have loved today. I was star of the week for making my Royal Hat, I have had my picture taken for the paper and I have loved dressing up as a guest for the Royal Wedding.”
