Welcome from the Chair

I am honoured to be the Chair of Governors at The Olive School, Bolton, and on behalf of both myself and my fellow Governors, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our school website.

The Olive School, Bolton, is committed to delivering educational excellence and providing a dynamic programme of personal and academic development, within the framework of an enjoyable, child-friendly curriculum. We want to equip all of our pupils with the practical and emotional skills required to play a productive role in society, through both our core curriculum and a rich and diverse programme of leadership and enrichment activities.

The role of the Local Accountability Board is to work closely with the Trust’s Central Team, the Principal and staff to ensure that we offer the best educational provision possible, securing positive outcomes for every pupil and determining the strategic direction of the school. Acting as a “critical friend,” we hold the school to account for its performance, working with staff, pupils, parents and the local community to ensure that The Olive School, Bolton strives for continuous improvement.

Most of all, we are here because we care for our school and want it to succeed, and the Local Accountability Board voluntarily devote their time and effort to making The Olive School, Bolton, the epitome of everything a primary school should be.
